Historical evolution of Suizhou

In the name of the Western Zhou Dynasty. The Spring and Autumn Period belongs to Sui, Li and Tang Dynasties. At the end of the warring States period, it belonged to Chu and was a county. Suizhou was located in the first year of the Western Wei Dynasty (AD 535). 1949 belongs to Xiaogan area. 1952 belongs to Xiangyang area. 1970 belongs to Xiangyang area. 1983, revoked with the county, merged into Suizhou City, and belonged to Xiangyang City. 1994 is a municipality directly under the provincial government. Suizhou was founded in 2000.

3. Place Guangshui City under Xiaogan City and prefecture-level cities under Suizhou City.

In 2000, according to the data of the fifth national census, the total population of Suizhou was 2,484,688. Among them, there are 885936 people in Zengdu District 1598752 and Guangshui City.
