What did Lu Ban invent?

Lu Ban's surname is not Lu, but Ban Gong Bo. Some books are also about losers or losers. Because he was a native of Lu during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, people called him Lu Ban.

Lu Ban was born in 507 BC. His family has been craftsmen for generations. Luban himself is a skillful craftsman and an outstanding inventor. There are many records and legends about him in history. Until now, the story he invented has been widely circulated among the people.

Today, carpenters use hand tools such as saws, drills, planers, shovels and rulers. Mo Dou is said to have been invented by Lu Ban. And the invention of every tool was developed by Lu Ban through repeated experiments in production practice.

1, saw

Take the invention of the saw as an example. On one occasion, the king ordered Luban to cut down 300 beams and columns in fifteen days to build a big palace. So, Lu Ban took his disciples up the mountain. They got up early and were greedy for the dark, wielding axes and chopping for ten days in a row. They were exhausted one by one, and only one hundred big trees were cut down.

At this time, all the bricks and stones are ready, and the auspicious day chosen by the king is about to expire. If the wood is not properly prepared during construction, it will be put to death. What shall we do? At night, Ruban tossed and turned in bed and couldn't sleep. He got up and walked towards the mountain with a deep foot and a shallow foot. Looking up, the seven stars blinked at him, and it was almost dawn.

Suddenly, Luban felt that his hand was cut by something. When he raised his hand, he saw a hole in his calloused hand, oozing blood beads. He looked around carefully, and it turned out to be thatched grass. Ruban was surprised. He picked up a blade of grass and found many sharp teeth on its edge. Turning around, he saw a big locust with two big ears eating grass quickly. Luban caught a locust, and when he saw it, its teeth grew well. Look at the leaves of silk grass and the big die of locust, and his heart will be suddenly enlightened.

He made a bamboo out of Phyllostachys pubescens, which was carved with many serrations like silk grass leaves and locusts. Pull the tree with it, only a few times, the bark will be broken, and once again, there will be a deep ditch on the trunk. But after a long time, the sawtooth on the bamboo piece is either pure or broken. At this time, Lu Ban thought of iron. He ran down the mountain and asked the blacksmith to make a serrated iron bar based on the bamboo pieces he made, which was used to pull the tree. Really fast!

This iron bar is the prototype of a saw. With it, Luban and his disciples cut down 300 beams and columns in 13 days.

2. Aircraft

Luban is a carpenter and works with wood all day. He is very skilled, especially good at cutting wood into the required shape with an axe. The sentence "Teach people to play with an axe" means that anyone who wants to play with an axe in front of Lu Ban is overreaching. This shows Lu Ban's proficiency in using an axe.

However, it is impossible for Lu Ban to cut the wood smoothly with an axe, especially when it comes to wood with thick grain and many scars. In order to solve this problem, Lu Ban pondered during the day and thought at night. First, he made a thin axe, which was quickly sharpened. Much better than before, but still not ideal.

So, Luban ground a small and thin axe, covered with a piece of iron, leaving only a narrow blade. This time, Luban won't cut it. He pushed the wood with this narrow blade. Push, the wood pushed down a thin layer of sawdust. After a dozen pushes, the surface of the wood is flat and smooth, which is much better than that cut with an axe in the past. But when this thing is pushed in your hand, it is both stuck and invalid. Lu Ban made another wooden pedestal and put it in. So the plane was born.

3. Lu banchi

When Lu Ban was a carpenter, he often met right angles. Although he has a rectangular moment in his hand, it is still very troublesome to use. The improved Luban made an L-shaped wooden ruler and measured it at right angles, which is convenient! Later people called it Lubanchi. Because Lu Ban has made such a great contribution to the improvement of woodworking tools, carpenters have regarded him as the founder for more than two thousand years.

4. Stone crusher

Luban travels all the year round, working for others. On this day, he was busy all morning and sat down to have a rest. There is a family nearby who is preparing to cook, but there is no flour. They took some wheat, put it in a mortar and pounded it with a heavy pestle. The wheat masher was so tired that he sweated a little. Because the wheat grain is oval, the force is small and cannot be broken; I was so excited that I smashed the wheat and ran. I'm really anxious. That's how people used it at that time. Luban is determined to reform it and solve difficulties for people. Another day, "Lu Ban came to another place to work and happened to see an old lady pounding wheat. The old lady is too old to lift the stone pestle. She took a stone pestle and studied the wheat in the stone mortar. Lu Ban walked over and saw that many wheat grains in the stone mortar had been ground into powder. Lu Ban was inspired by this.

When he got home, Lu Ban asked his wife Yun Shi to find two stones. He chiseled the stone into two large disks and carved a groove on one side of each disk. He also installed a wooden handle on one of the disks. The neighbors were surprised. What does Luban do? Everyone gathered around to watch. I saw that Lu Ban stacked two disks together, and the two sides of the gouge were connected, with a wooden handle on it and a shaft in the middle. He put the wheat grain in the middle of the disc and then turned the stone disc on it. Wheat grains are quickly ground into flour. Everyone is very happy. Lu Ban did make a great contribution to people. "This is the stone mill widely used in rural areas of China for more than two thousand years.

Step 5: ladder

Luban is not only a skillful craftsman who can make all kinds of daily necessities for the people. He is also an outstanding mechanical inventor.

Luban lived in an era of hegemony and wars year after year. At that time, every city had high and thick walls. The soldiers guarding the city closed the gate and stood on the wall to guard. As for the attackers, the weapons in their hands are just bows and arrows, spears and the like, and it is difficult to capture the city. Often the city is surrounded for many days, and it is difficult to rush.

King Lu ordered Lu Ban to make siege equipment. Thinking about the past and the future, Lu Ban remembered the short ladder he used when building the house. If you step on a short ladder, you can climb to the roof. If you build a long ladder, you can climb the high city wall. If you can shoot arrows on the ladder, can't you beat off the defenders? So Lu Ban built a ladder. This kind of "ladder" can be set up carefully and reach the high city wall, where people can stand and shoot arrows. The ladder in modern fire fighting equipment evolved from this kind of ladder.

6. Trojan horse

According to ancient records, Luban also built a "wooden horse car". It was built for the funeral when his mother died. Lu Ban installed a mechanical device in the car, which was driven by a Woodenhead. On the day of the funeral, many people surrounded along the way, admiring this self-propelled wooden horse car.

People have long praised Lu Ban's "cleverness", saying that the wooden bird he built can fly, Woodenhead can work, the lampstand he built can separate the seawater after it is lit, the wood can bounce off after his Mo Dou is painted, he can glue the broken wood into delicate beams and columns with saliva, and he can build three bridges overnight, and so on. In a word, Lu Ban is synonymous with skillful craftsman and invention.

Supplement: The story of Lu Ban's wife inventing an umbrella.

Speaking of umbrellas, I think everyone must be familiar with them! In our daily life, we often use the prop "umbrella", which can provide us with some benefits such as shading, wind and rain. Does anyone know who invented the umbrella when?

Umbrella, invented in 1000 BC, was promoted by Lu Ban's wife, Yun Shi. It is said that Lu Ban was working for the people in the countryside at that time, and his wife, Yunshi, sent meals back and forth every day. In the rainy season, she is often caught in the rain. Luban designed and built some pavilions along the way. When it rains, he can hide in the pavilion for a while. However, although the pavilion is good, it is always inconvenient to set up more pavilions. Moreover, there are thunderstorms in all seasons, and it will come as soon as possible. Maybe the rain will thunderbolt underground. The cloud suddenly had a whim: "I wish I had a small pavilion around." After listening to his daughter-in-law, Lu Ban suddenly realized. The powerful and omnipotent inventor of China cut out a piece of cloth, fitted the movable skeleton and handle according to the pavilion, and the umbrella was invented!

Lu Ban really deserves his reputation, even his wife is very clever.
