According to Confucian ethics, a man's hair over the waist is sloppy, so ancient men often trim the ends of their hair to ensure that their hair is not over the waist. In ancient times, there were many stresses on cutting hair. In the eyes of the ancients, a haircut was a big event, so it was a lucky day before shaving.

Because of the ethics of the Han people, the Qing government did not have the concept of "parents with skin and hair". In order to stabilize the ruling position of the Qing government, men were required to shave their heads to be so strong. However, in the eyes of the Han people, the "suncus murinus tail" that the Qing army asked men to shave when they entered the customs should be quite indecent, which violated the aesthetics of the Han people. In the eyes of the Han people, this is against the ethical code. In addition, the Qing government didn't understand that China people wanted to choose an auspicious day when they cut their hair, and the "suncus murinus tail" was a symbol of the Qing dynasty, which was strongly opposed.

Therefore, "parents have physical problems" does not mean that the ancients did not shave their heads, but that they should not shave their heads like Manchu, who had to let the Han people shave their heads in order to stabilize their rule.
