Appreciation of auspicious day

The whole poem consists of four chapters, which artistically reproduces the whole process of Zhou Xuanwang's choosing an auspicious day to worship Mazu, hunting in the wild, and returning home with a full load to entertain his ministers.

The first chapter describes the preparation work before hunting. The hunting of ancient emperors is as solemn and sacred as sacrifice, alliance and feast, and it is the embodiment of martial spirit. The ceremony was very grand. Therefore, it is an essential procedure to choose an auspicious day in advance to sacrifice Mazu and rectify the field car. In this chapter, "climb a big mound and learn from its ugliness" is a natural phrase. Everything is ready, just waiting for the official hunting to climb the big hill and chase animals. In the second chapter, I chose a good horse to go hunting formally. The third day after offering sacrifices to Mazu is Wugeng Day, which is also a good day according to divination. After the horse was chosen, the Emperor of Zhou led or came to the hunting place. Deer herds gathered there, and the danger people set up fences on the banks of Qiju and Jushui, and drove the deer to the place where the son of heaven was waiting. The third chapter is about followers driving away animals for the son of heaven to shoot. Overlooking Yuan Ye, it is endless, full of abundant aquatic plants and wild animals coming and going in groups of three or five, either running or walking. Once again, the followers drove the cattle and let the son of heaven go hunting for fun. The fourth chapter writes that the son of heaven won the shot and went back to the DPRK to enjoy the banquet. The followers drove the cattle to Zhou, and he showed his bow and arrow skills. One arrow hit a pig and the other hit a bison. It is a tribute to the visualization of Zhou Xuanwang to show the heroic monarch image. At the end of the hunting, many things were caught, and the son of heaven happily entertained the minister with game, and the whole poem ended in a cheerful atmosphere.

The most obvious feature of this poem is that the poet follows the development process of things in an orderly way. In addition, most chapters of the poem describe the preparation process of hunting activities, the scene of followers driving away wild animals for the emperor to hunt, and the occasional appearance of animals as a foil. Specifically, the son of heaven has only four sentences to write when hunting: "If you open my bow, you must hold my arrow." Small _ is big. "This combination of point and surface writing not only describes the process of hunting, but also describes the hunting scene, revealing a relaxed atmosphere. It highlights the image of the son of heaven, enhances the majesty of the son of heaven, and makes the whole poem have a strong appeal.
