The Mongolian edition of Journal of Inner Mongolia University was founded in September 1959, and it is one of the earliest university journals in Inner Mongolia. The original editor-in-chief of the journal was Qing ertai, a professor, famous linguist and doctoral supervisor of Inner Mongolia University. The first editor-in-chief was a professor of Inner Mongolia University, a famous Mongolian linguist and doctoral supervisor, Mr. Quejing Zabu. The current editor-in-chief is Mr. Qi Mude Dogg, vice president of Inner Mongolia University, ethnic historian and doctoral supervisor.

This journal is a comprehensive academic theoretical journal which mainly reflects the teaching and scientific research achievements of Mongolian in Inner Mongolia University. During the "Cultural Revolution", the journal was closed 1 1 year, 1977. 1984 was designated as a quarterly magazine, which was publicly distributed in China, and 1985 began to be publicly distributed abroad. After nearly half a century's ups and downs, the journal ushered in the commemorative number of 100 in June 2000, and published bimonthly in 2003, which was the first in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Mongolian Publishing House and also in the leading position in the national academic journals of minority languages.

The journal mainly publishes academic papers written by teachers and students of Inner Mongolia University in Mongolian, and a few foreign manuscripts with new ideas, characteristics and high academic quality. According to the characteristics of Mongolian teaching and scientific research in Inner Mongolia University, the journal has always adhered to the study of Mongolian and the study of northern minorities as the main direction, paying attention to ethnic and local characteristics and taking into account other disciplines of social sciences. Since its inception, the journal has always carried out the party's policy of "letting a hundred flowers blossom" and the direction of serving the people and socialism, and has made important contributions to improving the research level of Mongolian studies in Inner Mongolia University.

With the development of society, the study of Mongolian studies in the world has been deepened and expanded. On the basis of the original columns of Mongolian language, literature and history, the journal has added columns of Mongolian culture, religion, national theory, folklore, archaeology, philosophy, economics, law, press and publication, research on the secret history of Mongolia, research on Mongolian studies abroad and Mongolian information, which has opened up an academic circle in recent years.

The magazine has formed a strong team of authors who combine the old with the young. They are located in Mongolian Studies College, Mongolian Studies Research Center, Ethnology and Sociology College, Law School, Humanities College and Public Administration College of Inner Mongolia University.
