Dong people like bullfighting for fun, mostly in spring and autumn. Although two cows fought, the etiquette of Dong villages in the north and south was different, which left traces of ancient fighting. The Dong People's Bull Running Festival is a traditional festival for Dong people. Dong people like bullfighting, and every village has a fighting "Buffalo King". The "Running Bull Festival" is held on the "Hai" day in February or August of the lunar calendar every year. Before the festival, make an appointment with your opponent to prepare for the bullfight. On the morning of the festival, the iron cannon rang three times, and the "Bull King" entered the bullring with the sound of gongs and drums and Lusheng musical instruments. At this time, each team, holding melons and moon axes and various flags, surrounded the paddock for three weeks, which is called "entering the field" or "stepping on the field". Then, each team holds its own "ox king" and torches, ready to fight. As soon as the iron cannon rang, they threw the torch forward, and the two cows involved in the fight rose from the hooves at both ends, rushed up and tied into a ball. The crowd outside cheered, and the atmosphere was tense and warm, which was very spectacular. The Dong people's Bull Running Festival is particularly popular in Congjiang and Liping, from September to the twelfth lunar month every year. There will be bullfighting and singing big songs during the activity. It takes 3 hours from Kaili to Congjiang and 4 hours to Liping. After the activity, visitors can also visit Dong villages such as Huang Xiao and Luanli in Congjiang, Basha Miao cultural tourism scenic spot and Zhaoxing Dong village in Liping.

Wrestling festival

Dong wrestling is popular in Sizhai, Hangdong, Zhagao, Huanggang, Xiangdong, Zengchong, Zhama and other places in Rongjiang, Shuangjiang Township, Liping County. It is a traditional sports activity integrating martial arts and entertainment. Every year, grand wrestling festivals are held in Hangdong and Sizhai on February 15 and March 15 of the lunar calendar. Hundreds of Dong men, women and children get together in Fiona Fang, except for grand wrestling competitions during the day. It takes 4 hours from Kaili to Liping, accompanied by other recreational activities such as bird shooting, Lusheng competition and bullfighting.

Sishibazhai Gehui

Forty-eight Zhai Song Festival is a national festival where Dong and Miao people get together to play with mountains, sing songs, make friends and fall in love. It is mainly distributed in Tianzhu County, Guizhou Province, followed by Jinping County, Guizhou Province and Jingzhou County, Hunan Province. This festival is named after forty-eight Dong and Miao villages (70% in Tianzhu, Guizhou) that originally spread between Guizhou and Hunan provinces. Forty-eight villages are the third batch of national intangible cultural heritage. It has a history of thousands of years since its formation. They can speak Miao, Dong, Sour Soup and Chinese at the same time, and the songs will be rich in content. In the long-term exchange activities of national folk songs, the Forty-eight Village Song Club has formed different singing characteristics according to the location of the activities, including riverside tune, Gaopo tune, Qingshan tune and Ali tune. The time span is from May 15 to mid-August of the lunar calendar every year. It takes 1.5 hours from Kaili to Tianzhu. After the Song Festival, tourists can eat and live in local farmhouses, or visit Tianzhu Sanxingyan, Jinfengshan Temple, Sanmentang Dong Village, Jinshan Cave and other landscapes.
