Activities related to Nanyao Palace

Shang Yuan Sacrifice is a sacrificial work that Nanyu Ao Palace invited the heads of organs, local gentry, prime minister Ma Hui and representatives of believers on the auspicious day of the first lunar month (15). Mazu Birthday Festival is an ancient ritual activity held in Nanyao Palace on Mazu's birthday on March 23rd of the lunar calendar. Usually, the mayor of Changhua (that is, the head of Fayuan Temple) wears a robe and hangs a horse to preside over the ceremony, offering flowers and reading articles. Then mothers celebrate in Nanyao Palace in turn every day, so the whole sacrifice usually lasts for half a month.

Based on the traditional belief of thinking about the source of drinking water, Nanyao Palace visited the Tianhou Palace of Benxi Steel every four years in the Qing Dynasty. Later, because the Tianhou Palace of Bengang was destroyed by the flood in Jiaqing, it was changed to other temples to make incense. Later, due to the bad relationship with the Chaotian Palace in Beigang, the incense ceremony is only held in Fengtian Palace in Xingang. The pilgrimage to the stupid port is taken care of by the mothers' association in turn. At first, Mazu was asked if he would go to Bengang for pilgrimage every four years. If not, ask him the next year, and so on. Later, due to the developed traffic, it was gradually changed to annual rotation. Now I make a pilgrimage for about three days and two nights, and live in Fengtian Palace and Yuanlin Guangning Palace in Xingang at night. In the process, we will go to Xingang Narcissus Palace to exchange robes for gifts, complete the incense ceremony in Fengtian Palace, hold a joint incense activity, and finally return to the palace.

After the mainland Meizhou made pilgrimages, Mazu originated in Meizhou Island, Fujian Province, and the cross-strait relations gradually eased, so the mother would make pilgrimages many times.

Activities to welcome Mazu. There are many Buddhists in Taiwan Province Province. There are regular activities to welcome Mazu back to his hometown, or in case of special events, Mazu will be welcomed to eliminate disasters and solve problems. Sometimes, when other gods visit the territory, they often invite Mazu to visit the territory, such as Lord Huang Cheng's birthday.

According to legend, Mazu ascended to Mei Feng to become a monk on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, so before and after the Double Ninth Festival, Nanyao Palace held activities to celebrate Mazu's becoming a monk.

After the furnace party, every mother will choose a "furnace owner" on Mazu's birthday every year, and welcome Mazu in Nanyao Palace and the incense burner of the former furnace owner back on a specific day. This welcoming ceremony is called "eating the stove", during which a running banquet is held to entertain members in other corners, which is called "eating the party".

Fenxiangzi Temple and Right Temple provide pilgrimage. The Fenxiangzi Temple in Nanyao Palace will return to the palace to worship ancestors in the first three years, and other Miao-supporting groups will enter the peak season from the first month until Mazu's birthday reaches its climax in March. Large-scale pilgrims will be accompanied by sacred sedan chairs and leaders, and a ceremony of exchanging incense will be held. Putting two temples together to interweave their cigarettes is called "crossing incense". Later, the incense ashes of Xuanlu in Nanyao Palace were placed in visiting Xuan Lu, which was called "cutting fire", mainly as a symbol of the exchange of divine power.

In addition to offering sacrifices to Mazu, there are many gods in Nanyao Palace, and believers will engage in worship activities on birthdays or enlightenment days.
