Building a house requires divination. What problems do we usually need to consider?

Orientation is the earliest knowledge that human beings have. We should always distinguish it. It is very important to make sure that the house faces Feng Shui. China, the capital, palace and government of past dynasties, is located in the middle and low latitudes of the northern hemisphere. Because of this natural geographical environment, houses facing south can be warm in winter and cool in summer, so houses in China are basically facing south. Moreover, China's political culture also has the characteristics of "south". The rule of emperors in past dynasties is called "southern rule", and the Book of Changes says: "Sages listen to the world from the south and from the Meiji world".

The ancient emperors, governors, Qing Dafu and state officials all sat facing south, so all the capitals, palaces and county yamen in China were facing south. Folk houses rarely take the "four positive directions". In ancient dwellings, most of the houses go south or due south, but some people go in other directions. Because of the fear of "suffocating", ancient dwellings rarely face the four directions of due south, due north, due east and due west. Instead, take other directions except the four positive directions as the feng shui direction of the house.

Geomantic omen attaches great importance to the house's geomantic omen, and there are many discussions. The "Eight Houses School" in Kanyu Studies divides houses into "Dongsi Houses" and "Xisi Houses". "Dongsi House" refers to houses sitting in four directions: east facing west (earthquake house), southeast facing west (Xun house), north facing south (Kanzhai) and south facing north (away from the house). "West Four Houses" refer to four types of houses, namely, northwest facing southeast (dry houses), southwest facing northeast (Zhai Kun), northeast facing southwest (lonely houses) and west facing east (opposite houses). We must fully consider the choice of geomantic orientation of houses under various circumstances. The Eight Houses School believes that it should be decided by people's "divination". The so-called "life divination" is the divination calculated according to the year of birth.

If the four hexagrams calculated are Kan, Li, Zhen and Xun, they are called "Dongsi Life"; if they are Gan, Kun, Gen and Right, they are called Xisi Life. The "Eight Houses School" believes that people who are divined as "Dongsi Life" should live in Dongsi Life and those who are divined as "Xisi Life" should live in Xisi Life. Because the theory of "Eight Houses School" had a great influence in ancient times, many people determined that the house was facing Feng Shui according to the theory of "Eight Houses School". It is difficult to explain scientifically by people's "divination" to determine the orientation of houses towards geomantic omen, and we can't take this as the principle of choosing houses towards geomantic omen. In fact, the choice of architectural orientation of geomantic omen involves local climatic conditions and geographical environment, which must be considered comprehensively.
