Is Yanbian University a 2 1 1 university?

It is a national key construction university of "2 1 1 project".

The school was founded in 1949, once under the Ministry of Higher Education of the State Council, and was transferred to Jilin Province in 1957. From August 65438 to August 0958, Yanbian University was divided into Yanbian University, Yanbian Medical College, Yanbian Agricultural College and Yanbian Institute of Technology. 1996 was approved by the former State Education Commission.

The former Yanbian University, Yanbian Medical College, Yanbian Agricultural College, Yanbian Normal College and Yanbian Branch of Jilin University of Arts merged to form a new Yanbian University. In September of the same year, Yanbian University of Science and Technology, a Chinese-foreign cooperative education institution, was merged into Yanbian University.

The development of history

1948 The Jilin Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China discussed and agreed to establish a university for nationalities in Yanbian, tentatively named "Northeast Korean People's University", and reported it to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China North Bureau for approval.

1February, 949, the Northeast Administrative Committee named the school "Yanji University" in its reply. The Preparatory Committee submitted a report to the Northeast Administrative Committee, suggesting that Yanji University be renamed Yanbian University.

Enrollment began in March. Yanbian Medical College merged into Yanji University. On March 20th, the opening ceremony was held in Stalin Theatre. April 1 day is designated as the celebration day. In April, the Northeast Administrative Committee approved Yanji University to be renamed Yanbian University.

At the beginning of the school, the school had a literature department, a medical department and an agricultural college. Later, after the adjustment of departments, the original departments and agricultural colleges were developed into normal colleges, medical colleges and agricultural colleges.
