The history of Xinglong Temple
After returning to Yunnan, Franco-German Master hung the plaque of Xinglong Temple given by the emperor on the door of the newly-built temple on the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month in the Year of Ugliness B (1385).
During the Cultural Revolution, Xinglong Temple was used for running schools, and 1987 was restored as a temple. Now it has basically recovered its original appearance. Covering an area of more than 50 mu, there are more than 30 monks. At present, the buildings of Xinglong Temple mainly include Zhaobi, Shanmen, Maitreya Hall, Guanyin Hall, Sanmiao, Daxiong Hall and Zushi Hall, with reasonable layout and complete structure. There are 13 stone tablets and 20 Tallinn in the temple, and important cultural relics include jade Buddha, ancient clock and stone tablets. Master Franco-German was the first abbot of Xinglong Temple, with more than 100 monks.
