Overview of Urumqi light rail

The rapid growth of passenger transport demand in the future can not be effectively solved by road transport alone, and the construction of large-capacity rail transit is more in line with the needs of Wuchang's future economic development. According to the overall urban planning and comprehensive transportation planning of Urumqi, the long-term urban rail transit network of Urumqi consists of seven lines, of which Line 5 connects Urumqi and changji city. Changji Prefecture has also planned 26 kilometers of urban light rail and 265 kilometers of intercity light rail. At present, the light rail construction projects in Urumqi and Changji have been initially connected.
