The temple names of Liu Bang and Li Yuan are Mao, and those of Zhao Kuangyin and Zhu Yuanzhang are Mao. These four people have two temples with the same name, and the other two are different. To put it bluntly, it is to show your dignity.

The name of the temple was originally used for worship. In order to show their identity, future generations gave their ancestors a temple name for sacrifice. Used for some anniversaries, some auspicious days to worship. There is no need to build a temple to seal the name of the ancestors. Simply put, the name of the temple: Taizu > Gaozu. Those who can be called Taizu and Gaozu are generally the founders of the dynasty. The early emperors were not so noble about their status. Liu Bang's original temple name was Gaozu, and with posthumous title, it was the Emperor Gaozu's height. Only later, in order to flatter the Liu family, the minister changed Liu Bang's temple name from Taizu to Taizu, and linked it to posthumous title: Emperor Gaozu. It is difficult for ordinary people to understand, so they simply call Liu Bang Emperor Gaozu. Coupled with the change of Xuanwu Gate and the later Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, the temple name of Gaozu was abolished, and the first nominal separatist regime was called Gaozu! Zhao Kuangyin thought he was different from them, and he was noble, so he changed the name of the temple to "Taizu".

By the time of Zhu Yuanzhang, the name of Taizu Hall had been continued. In fact, to put it bluntly, the name of the temple is only given to the dead, and ordinary people can't use it at home.
