The research on the rescue, protection, development and utilization of Shuishu was formally initiated by the National Social Science Fund. The annotation and appraisal of the existing Shuishu are beneficial to the research and inheritance of water culture. However, only 1500 of the 6,400 Shuishu in Libo have been deciphered and sorted out, and some deciphered Shuishu copies cannot be revised, reviewed and published due to insufficient funds. Yao Binglie said worriedly, "It is so difficult to study and protect tangible water books, not to mention a large number of ancient songs in the aquarium without written records, which they simply cannot preserve." Yao Binglie has always had a wish in his heart, hoping to build a Shuishu museum and do his best to protect Shuishu, an excellent folk cultural heritage. The vast majority of water people don't know Shui Shu, and those who know Shui Shu are honored as Mr. Shui Shu, and Shui Shu has a commandment of passing on men and not women since ancient times. Before 2007, there were more than 500 Mr. Shui Shu in Sandu County, and nearly 200 people died in a few years. At present, there are only more than 300, most of which are in ancient times.

In recent years, few people are willing to study it, which leads to a fault in the inheritance of Shuishu, because many young people in Shuicun go out to work, and activities such as choosing auspicious days and auspicious days with Shuishu are free, and the functions of choosing auspicious days and exorcising evil spirits are gradually deteriorating.
