Traffic in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture

Yanji has a main railway line, which goes south through Shenyang, Liaoning to Dalian and Beijing, and north through Changchun to Harbin, Heilongjiang. North of Yanji, there is a railway leading to Mudanjiang in Heilongjiang, which is connected with the Siberian railway from Inner Mongolia to Ussurisk and Vladivostok. Yanbian has 453 kilometers of railway lines, and standard buses connect Changchun, Mudanjiang, Shenyang, Beijing, Dalian, Harbin and Shanghai. Tumen is the only border port with railway trunk lines in the state, which is connected with the trunk lines of Luo Jin and Jinqing ports in North Korea. The Sino-Russian Hunchun-Mahalino Railway has achieved a high degree of integration.

Jilin-Hunchun Railway Passenger Dedicated Line (Jilin-Hunchun Railway Passenger Dedicated Line) starts in Jilin City and ends in Hunchun City, Jilin Province, and is located at the junction of China, Russia and North Korea. The total length is 359 kilometers, passing through seven counties and cities such as Jilin, Jiaohe, Dunhua, Antu, Yanji, Tumen and Hunchun, with an investment of about 4 16 billion yuan. The design speed of this special line is 250km/h, and there are stations along the line * * * such as Jilin, Jiaohe West, Weihuling North, Dunhua, Dashitou South, Antuxi, Yanji West, Tumen North and Hunchun 10. After the completion of Ji-Hun Passenger Dedicated Line, together with Changji Intercity Railway, it forms a fast passenger passage from Changchun to Hunchun, and can also be regarded as a branch line of Harbin-Dalian Passenger Dedicated Line. Tumen River is the only water passage from China to the Sea of Japan. China has the right to drive on the main channel, but it was cancelled because of the low water level. Tumen River leaves the country in Hunchun and flows into the Sea of Japan. After dredging, the middle reaches of Tumen River can reach the five-level waterway standard, the downstream reaches the seven-level and six-level waterway standard, and the estuary reaches the first-level and second-level waterway standard, so it can reach ships directly through 2000-3000 tons of rivers and seas.

This is also a convenient water passage from the northeast of China to the Russian Far East coast and even the west coast of the United States. Hunchun City, Yanbian is located at the junction of China, Russia and North Korea in the lower reaches of Tumen River, at the geometric center of economic cooperation in Northeast Asia, only 15 km away from the Sea of Japan. Two maritime transport lines have been opened, namely, Hunchun River Port via North Korea's Luojin Port to South Korea's sokcho Port and Hunchun Port via Russia's Zharubino Port to South Korea's sokcho Port. These two routes also extend to Niigata Port, Japan. The state attaches great importance to the promotion and development of the strategy of opening cooperation zones in Changchun, Jilin and Tumen River. The resumption of navigation of Tumen River will achieve this strategic goal, which is of great political and economic significance to help the economic and social development of Jilin old industrial base and seize the central position in Northeast Asia.
