School-running Thought of Shanghai Oriental Cao Yang Foreign Language Senior High School

Oriental Cao Yang takes "three actions", that is, "all for students, all for parents and all for education" as its school-running philosophy; Abide by and abide by the teaching philosophy of "pursuing the scientific spirit of education as science, creating the innovative spirit of education as art, and dedicating education to the cause"; At the same time, in all aspects of education and teaching, we should adhere to the working concept of "three basics", that is, "school management is service-oriented, teachers are students, and students' development is self-realization".

Oriental Cao Yang Education devotes itself to the exploration in the following three aspects.

First, explore the integration of school social education. Yang, academician of China Academy of Sciences, president of Nottingham University, and Chen, academician of China Engineering Institute of East China Normal University, were invited to give lectures to the students, and joined hands with community resources to hold large-scale theme activities on campus during the golden autumn holiday.

Establishing a youth party school, training high school students to join the Party activists and developing student party member have become the moral education characteristics of "one school, one product" in Oriental Cao Yang.

Second, explore the characteristics of "being good at foreign languages". The school has continuously strengthened the construction of foreign language teaching and research groups, introduced overseas high-quality educational resources, and from the perspective of cultivating talents who can meet the needs of future international competition, implemented oral English teaching in small classes, selected high-quality English textbooks and taught oral English classes by foreign teachers. In order to broaden international horizons and add foreign language minor language elective courses, three elective courses of basic German, French and Japanese have been offered successively.

Third, the exploration of educational internationalization. The school signed educational cooperation agreements with a number of overseas schools, and organized teachers and students to hold summer camps in Australia, Canada and South Korea during the summer vacation. Entrusted by Shanghai Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, summer camps for overseas Chinese teenagers were successfully held in the summer of 2004 and 2005, April and July of 2006 and 2007. In April 2007, it was named as the "Chinese Education" base in Shanghai by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Shanghai.

Shanghai Oriental Cao Yang Foreign Language High School has established the Oriental Cao Yang Learning Port as a window for students to learn about foreign cultures, a salon for learning foreign languages and a through train for world learning.
