Causes of large-scale and multi-level decline of terraced fields

The reason for the large-scale decline of terraces is that the gap between terraces is large due to the change of mountain shape. According to relevant public information, it is located in the Daliangshan fault zone, with fault cliffs with a vertical drop of 500m, which are layered to cater to local crops and form magnificent terraces with unique terrain. According to geological experts, the Daliangshan fault zone where Jiribo Mountain is located consists of several secondary faults. Among them, Hanyuan and Ganluo faults laid the foundation that the current structural framework in this area is mainly formed by shallow thrust nappe structures, mainly shallow brittle faults, which are surrounded by small faults around and cut by flowing water to form fault blocks. The Cambrian and Devonian strata of the Early Paleozoic thrust on the Emei Mountain basalt formed by volcanic eruption and the Yangxin Formation limestone formed by sedimentation more than 200 million years ago. According to the estimation of formation thickness, the vertical fault distance is less than 1km, and there are fault cliffs with vertical drop of 500m in some areas. In the late stage of the cliff, many gullies in Maanshan, with an altitude of 4288m on the east side, crossed the cliff, forming a fault triangle. In addition, the mountain is a hard basalt of Emei Mountain Group, which is also conducive to shaping, so it forms an auspicious day wave similar to a pyramid.
