What is the Golden Rooster Award and why is it called the Golden Rooster Award?

Golden Rooster Award is a film award jointly sponsored by China Film Association and China Federation of Literary and Art Circles. Founded in 198 1, it was awarded the Golden Rooster Award in China because it was the Year of the Rooster in China.

Golden Rooster Award is an authoritative and professional film award in Chinese mainland film industry.
