Sandun Liancheng Sandun Liantai Site

Sandun Liantai Site is located in Yanji City.

Wharf locations include big wharf, small wharf and Maoershan wharf.

The three piers and abutments are horns with each other, forming a triangular military liaison system, guarding the heart of Bohai County at that time-Chengzi Mountain City and Changbai Mountain. Under the condition of backward military communication technology in ancient times, the design of military early warning system using terrain is very practical. If an enemy invades, fire at night, smoke rises every day, and alarm quickly to transmit military information. Each dock was guarded by five non-commissioned officers and was gradually abandoned in the middle of Qing Dynasty.

(1) Daduntai site:

Geographical coordinates: 42 57' N19.18; East 129 30' 2.96

On the Rocky Mountain at the end of a hill extending from northeast to southwest at the east 1km of Xing 'an Township Government (only one third of the Rocky Mountain is left on the north side due to quarrying), Jiusan Factory is adjacent to an unnamed river in the west. The pier is made of earth and stone, with a height of about 4. 1 m, which is a beacon tower built during the Bohai period.

(2) Small dock site:

Geographical coordinates: 42 54' 40.51N; East 129 29' 26.42

On the northernmost mountain of Yanji People's Park. It is a cone-shaped platform built of earth and stone, with an existing height of 8m, a bottom circumference of180m, a bottom diameter of 53m and a top diameter of 29m, which looks like a big cone. It was a beacon tower during the Bohai period.

There is a stone tablet under the small pier. The inscription introduces the ancient Wokuotai villages in China who lived here before and after the Han Dynasty. Elm and pear trees grow sparsely on both sides of the mountain road. On the dock, a tall pavilion stands on the top of the mountain. You can overlook Yanji city from here.

(3) Moore Mountain Wharf Site:

Geographical coordinates: N 42 51'35.07; East 129 28' 0.97

The top of Maoershan Mountain at the junction of Yanji City and Longjing City is 5 17 meters above sea level. It was a beacon tower in the Bohai period, with a height of about 3 meters and a top diameter of about 6-8 meters. There is a military building site in Bohai County under the pier.

The military facilities related to piers and abutments are the "ancient Great Wall" that stretches on the land of Yanbian, and it is the link connecting piers and abutments. The remains of the "Ancient Great Wall" in Yanbian stretch intermittently between the mountains of Yanji, Longjing and Helong. Most of them are made of mud, stones or a mixture of mud and stones. Most of them are built on one side of the ridge, and some cross mountains, canyons and rivers.

At present, a detailed investigation shows that the "Ancient Great Wall" starts from Bajiazi Town in helong city in the west, passes through Xicheng and Longmen, then passes through Xilin River, Taoyuan, Tongfo, Chaoyang and Badao in Longjing City, then passes through Mopanshan in Yanji Town and Chang 'an Town in Tumen City (near Chengzi Mountain City) and reaches Beishan in Jilin Province in Chang 'an Town in the east, with a total length of 100 km. Most of the "ancient Great Wall" we see now has collapsed or disappeared, with only intermittent remains. Dozens of piers and abutments were found on both sides of the site of the "Ancient Great Wall". According to the topography of the site, these piers and abutments were important military facilities for military observation and information transmission in that year.

Relying on the ancient Great Wall, the "pier and abutment" in Yanbian has an overall arc layout, guarding the vast and fertile valley basin between the Buerhatong River in Yanji and the Hailan River in Longjing, forming a very spectacular ancient military fortification system.
