Where is Alxa League?

There are several explanations about the meaning of Alashan League (the word Alashan was first recorded in the Secret History of Mongolia). This is the Chinese transliteration of Helan Mountain. ) is located in the westernmost part of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with an east longitude of 9710 ′—106 52 ′ and a north latitude of 37 21′— 42 47 ′. It is connected with Jiuquan City, Zhangye City, jinchang City, Wuwei City and Baiyin City in Gansu Province in the west, and faces zhongwei and wuzhong in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region across the Helan Mountain in the southeast. The boundary line is 733.48 kilometers long, with a total area of 270,000 square kilometers. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), the Central People's Government implemented the policy of regional ethnic autonomy. 1954, Alashan established a regional political organ-Ningxia Mongolian Autonomous Region. Later, due to the division change, it was renamed as Gansu Mongolian Autonomous Region, Gansu Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture and Bayinhaote Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture. 1956 Alashan Banner, Ejina Banner, Dengkou County and Bayannaoer City belong to Bayannaoer City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
