Tiequan Festival is a traditional festival of which nation?
At that time, "Zhuoba" (the mother of the village) and "Zhuosheng" (the father of the village) knocked on the cowhide drums that were considered as artifacts. When the whole village heard the news, they gathered at "Zhuoba" and "Zhuosheng" homes, waiting for the preparation of the New Year distribution. First of all, all the families in the village raised funds to buy calves and held a ceremony to sacrifice them to heaven. After the sacrifice, one person from each household, carrying a bow and arrow and a musket on his shoulder, went up the mountain to catch two yellow-billed rats and presented them to the elders of the village as holiday gifts for their children to show their filial piety. In addition, a pair of bamboo rats will be caught and given to the blacksmith in the village as a gift for the ceremony of ploughing and cutting trees in the New Year and a souvenir made of iron. These gifts are sometimes reserved in advance. The men gathered in the blacksmith's workshop, cleaned the mice, dried half of them with fire, pounded them into powder, poured boiling water, brought soup to the blacksmith, and gave the rest of the mouse meat to the elders in the village.
During the festival, there are activities such as playing cowhide drums, bamboo slips ensemble, jumping, singing and turning bamboo poles. It is said that a long time ago, a Jino woman was pregnant for nine years in September after marriage and failed to give birth. Later, the child in her belly bit off her seven ribs, jumped out from under them, held a poker in one hand and a hammer in the other, and struck the iron when she was born. From then on, Jino people began to use iron. In order to commemorate him, later generations followed suit in succession, so there was the Iron Strike Festival.
The annual festival of Jinuo people living in Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province is the Kote Festival. In Jinuo language, "Kote" means "forging big iron", and the blacksmith is the star of the festival.
The early Tiekuangke Festival was originally the Tieda Festival, which was held by Jino people to commemorate the creation and use of iron. According to Jinuo folklore, a woman was pregnant for nine years and nine months and gave birth to a son when Jinuo had no iron tools. After the son was born, he became a stout man with a hammer in his right hand and an iron pliers in his left. He set up a stove and anvil in the house and began to strike the iron. From then on, Jinuo people had iron tools such as iron knives and axes. In order to commemorate this historic change, the Jino people celebrate the Kot Festival every year.
On the morning of the ceremony, the "Zhuoba" elders in the village were so excited that they banged on the big drum dedicated to his family. Jinuo people dressed in festive costumes heard the drums and flocked to the pre-arranged cattle farm. After Zhuoba recited a traditional poem about cattle, a group of men with bamboo sticks took turns to raise javelins, threw them at the tightly tied cattle and plunged them into their bodies. After the scalper was slaughtered, seven copies were cut off and given to seven old in the village, and then distributed to everyone equally.
Every family raises pigs to kill chickens and prepares a sumptuous banquet. At noon, the male parents took their own wine and meat dishes and went to Zhuoba's house to participate in the Drum Festival. On the altar in front of the drum, there are blacksmith's tools such as hammer, iron tongs, chicken feathers, ginger, taro, cockscomb and golden flower. Zhuoba recited the sacrificial words, shook the hammer and drummed, and then led everyone to dance with great encouragement, singing to bid farewell to the old and welcome the new. From the evening, people eat, sing and dance until the end of the day.
The next day, the villagers will give the blacksmith a bamboo mouse. There are dense bamboo forests in Jinuo area, and mice living in bamboo forests are the best food. Everyone surrounded the blacksmith and went to Zhuoba's house to hold a symbolic iron-striking activity. The blacksmith and his apprentice burned a piece of iron temporarily and beat it with a hammer, which means laying a new knife and axe and preparing to put it into spring ploughing production. Then, people began to swing, top, lose bags, walk on stilts and other activities, or visit relatives and friends to celebrate the festival.
