General procedure of burial ceremony

The following ten steps are for reference only:

The first step: when burying the deceased, we must first choose an auspicious day for the deceased, a day suitable for burial, and let the deceased rest in peace; Don't choose the date of burial at will. Since ancient times, burial should pay attention to time, place and people, so it is very important to choose the date. Step 2: After choosing an auspicious day, you need to choose a suitable time so that you won't make mistakes. Step 3: In addition, when burying the ashes of the ancestors' spirits, it is necessary to warm the ancestors' holes first, that is, to give them a "warm home" so that they can feel warm in the dark and cold underground, so the relatives of the deceased need to burn some yellow paper in the cemetery cave accompanied by the undertaker, so that the deceased can feel warm and rest in peace underground. Step 4: After the yellow paper is burned, you need to sprinkle some praying soil at the bottom of the cemetery. It should be noted that the blessing soil should be broadcast by the relatives of the deceased, and it is an immediate family member, preferably a son, so as to meet the rules of burial. Yin Fu soil has the functions of protecting the urn, preventing moisture and insects. This is also to protect the ancestors' spiritual position, so that the ancestors' spiritual ashes will not be corroded by the outside world. Step 5: After spreading Yin Fu soil, the ancestral urn can be put into the hole. At the same time, the orientation of the urn is also very particular, which needs to be decided according to the field trip and geomantic omen of the undertaker. Step 6: After the urn of the ancestors is placed, it needs to be covered with a layer of gold cloth, and of course silver can also be used. This kind of cooking is called "spreading gold and covering silver" in folk customs, mainly to make the wealth of future generations more prosperous, bring blessings to future generations and make future generations' families prosperous. Step 7: Of course, if there is enough space in the tomb, the family members of the deceased can also place some favorite items or some gold and silver jewelry in the tomb. This practice has a long history, especially among ancient dignitaries, commonly known as burial. Step 8: Finally, we need to sprinkle Yin Fu soil around the urn, and then fill the grave with Yin Fu soil, so that the dead can rest in peace. Step 9: After all the steps are completed, the burial master can only seal the hole for the ancestors after the relatives confirm it. Step 10: The burial master seals the hole as the burial is completed. After the burial, relatives of the deceased need to worship and bow in front of the tombstone of the deceased.
