Historical evolution of shirentang

Shiren Hall is located at the foot of Shiren Peak in Lingshan. Every year from the first day of September to the tenth day of the lunar calendar, there is an endless stream of people going to the market. There are many pilgrims in Shangrao, Yushan, Guangfeng, Hengfeng, Dexing and Leping, and vendors, jugglers, fortune tellers and beggars gather here. On the auspicious day of 369, it is even more grand and spectacular. While enjoying the natural scenery of Shiren Peak and nearby Nantang Peak, it is a great pleasure to catch up with the temple fair while enjoying a wide variety of goods. However, the pious colors of worshippers and the leisurely smoke from the kitchen above the temple show that Li Lao Town is the real source of attracting tourists. During the Spring Festival, Qiaodeng in Gaonan, Tanhuashan, Zheng Fang, Shiren and Hu Lin will all go to Shiren Temple to celebrate the Lantern Festival, in order to have a good year.

Before the bombing of the Stone Man Peak during the Cultural Revolution, there was an isolated stone on the top of the mountain, which looked like an old man sitting with his hands touching his knees, neck, shoulders, body and headless head. There is a legend about the stone man: there is an evil dragon god hidden in Lingshan, and he wants to turn Jiangxi into the sea. The "Master Shixian" was appointed by the old gentleman in the Imperial Palace and turned into a woodcutter to subdue him. Later, when he saw Lingshan Junxiu, he settled here. I often play chess with Li Laozhen Jun, but my skills are poor and I lose a lot. Over time, there is a gap in my heart. One day, he said to Li Laozhen, "These three sets win or lose. If I lose, my head will be cut off. Lost, all beings under the peak have been suffering from drought and flood for three years. " Li Laozhen knows that Shixian has a "sex hat" in his hand, which can call the wind and rain. If left unchecked, the consequences will be unimaginable. Shixian lost to the army of Li Lao Town, and the old town used a sword and its head fell to the ground. The next day, Shi Xianfu invited him to play chess and lost again. On the third day, Shi Xian invited him to play again. Day after day, every time a head is cut, a head grows. Li Lao is really worried. In the long run, it will bring disaster to the people one day. Guanyin sensed this and turned it into a flying bird: "cold water burns your neck, and winter grass cuts your neck!" " "Fairy head off, never reborn, turned into a headless stone man. Its head rolled to the northwest of the summit, and the firewood was dyed red with blood. Today, every late autumn, the long grass is dark red, leaving the saying that "there are eight sides of Lingshan and seven sides of treasure, and one side has no treasure and long thatch". In order to commemorate it, the world built a Guanyin Pavilion next to the Shiren Hall, hence the name Shiren Hall. (Formerly known as "General Li Temple". )
