In Tibetan areas, there is a custom of carving spells, Buddha statues and scriptures on stones, which are customarily called Mani stones. Manidui was originally called Manza, which means Datura. It is an aura pile made of stones of different sizes, which is called "Duofen" in Tibetan. Some are carved on cliffs, some are carved on flaky, and a large number of them are piled up in selected special places, such as roads with many pedestrians or places with defective geomantic omen. After being blessed, it can not only promote local peace, but also pile up into a long wall. This Mani wall is called Miandang in Tibetan. At the same time, it can also bless all sentient beings in the past, so that they can gain the benefits of Buddhism. The most common mantra is Guanyin: hum, bimi, coax. Carving Mani stone is of great merit. For example, if you pay someone to carve Master Lotus's spell on a stone, many sentient beings and you will benefit from Master Lotus's spell until the stone is destroyed.

On auspicious days, people simmer mulberries, add stones to the Mani pile, touch them with their foreheads, pray silently, and then throw them on the pile. Over time, a lot of Mani piles have been built, and the more they are built, the higher they are. Every stone embodies the voice of believers. The appearance of Mani stone made these natural stones begin to be visualized. In the long historical process, a large number of Mani stone carvings have emerged in Tibet, and ordinary people can be seen everywhere. They are the pursuits, ideals, feelings and hopes of Tibetans carved on stones.
