The Creative Background of Ming Xianzong Lantern Festival Music Map

This picture was painted by a court painter in the Ming Dynasty. Also known as "Xian Zong Le Tu". In the twenty-first year of Chenghua (1485), it was a lucky day in the middle of winter. This painting shows the Ming court imitating folk customs to set off firecrackers, lanterns and watch zaju.

This huge painting depicts various scenes of Zhu Jianshen celebrating the Lantern Festival in the palace on the 15th day of the first month. In the picture, Xian Zong appeared in various programs from morning till night, among which performances, acrobatics, magic, fireworks and lanterns, as well as the whole mountain lantern market, were magnificent. There are also scenes in the painting where stalls are set up in the palace to set off firecrackers, play lanterns and watch chores in imitation of folk customs. In the picture, Zhu Jianshen, dressed in casual clothes, sat in a tent in front of the temple, with courtiers standing on both sides and lanterns hanging on the temple, bustling.

This realistic painting of "Eat, Drink, and Enjoy" is also a masterpiece of folk customs in the Ming Dynasty.
