Legend of Longhu Lake in Jinjiang, Quanzhou, Fujian

There is a stone tablet about 2 meters high in Longwang Temple near Longhu, with the words "View Lake" engraved on the front and the word "Daqing" engraved on the back. It is said that in the early years of the Qing Dynasty, a family of dignitaries lived here. Because the water in Longhu Lake is cool, they want to keep it for themselves. As a place to bathe horses, they specially bathe and drink water for military horses, and residents have to pay a certain fee if they need to use them.

This action aroused the dissatisfaction of Yulong villagers. They joined hands to complain, from the county to the province, and finally succeeded in "returning the lake to the people." Later, in order to commemorate this history, people set up this stone tablet in the ninth year of Yongzheng.
