How to dig a cellar for sweet potato storage?

The cellar for storing sweet potatoes is generally dug according to the following requirements:

1. Dig a cellar with a diameter of about1.5-2m and a depth of about 3-4m. Store sweet potatoes in it for three to four months. Put some lime powder first, and then put it in after a day's cleaning. Don't completely cover them. Find a bottom like a cardboard bag.

2. Dry a lot of sweet potatoes and store a small amount, but choose.

3. The purpose of digging the cellar is mainly to isolate the air, reduce the oxidation of sweet potatoes, and increase carbon dioxide to protect sweet potatoes. So as long as it can basically isolate the air and ensure a certain humidity, it is ok.

4. The location of the cellar should be chosen in a place with high terrain and mainly red loam. The depth of the cellar is about 3 meters, and the height of the two sweet potato storage holes is not less than 1.8 meters, and the length and width are not less than 2.5 meters. This cellar can store about 4000 kilograms of fresh sweet potatoes.

5. Before the sweet potato enters the cellar, the old cellar hole should be dug again, and the old soil should be transported out of the cellar based on the new soil. If the cellar is dry, you can pour a few buckets of water to keep it moist. Before sweet potatoes are stored, 50% carbendazim wettable powder or 800% sulfur suspending agent should be sprayed evenly in the cellar to achieve the purpose of sterilization and disinfection.

6. Try to choose sweet potatoes without germs and pests in storage, and handle them gently when they are transported into the cellar, taking care not to damage the sweet potato skin. Every 150kg sweet potato, evenly spray the diluent of "sweet potato preservative".

7. Sweet potatoes should be piled up according to the size, which is convenient for dumping. The height of sweet potato stacking should be about 60 cm from the ceiling, which is beneficial to sweet potato breathing and heat dissipation.
