What is the use of Tibetan prayer flags (also called Fengmaqi)?

Fengmaqi, literally translated as "Ronda" in Tibetan. "Dragon" means wind in Tibetan, and "Da" means horse. The mainland is commonly known as prayer flags, and some are called prayer flags. Birthday auspicious days and New Year's Day celebrations are decorated with wind and horse flags, symbolizing the harmony between heaven, earth, people and animals; Herdsmen hang wind and horse flags on newly-built tents for the well-being after migration; People put wind and horse flags on trees along the banks of the river to show their awe of the water god; People living in Lin Mang hang high the wind and horse flag, which is a sacrifice to the mountain gods; Pilgrims walk on the wasteland, carrying wind flags on their shoulders, in order to pray for a safe journey; Fengmaqi piled up at the intersection of hills, expressing passers-by' s desire for good luck.
