When is Gaocheng Temple Fair?

The temple fair in Gaocheng is on the fourteenth day of the ninth lunar month.

Gaocheng folk flower fair has a long history, mostly from temple fairs. Every temple fair, the team of the village flower party is invited to "Dakou" or "Wound" (local performance is called "Dakou" and foreign performance is called "Wound"). After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), this custom has been followed for a long time, and various flower parties often hold large-scale performances during festivals or celebrations. There are nearly 20 kinds of objects preserved, such as war drums, drum sets, drums, fan drums, dragon lanterns, dry boats, lion dances and stilts.

Now the temple fair is getting bigger and bigger, twice a year, that is, the material exchange meeting in spring and autumn, which lasts for six days. The characteristics of the material exchange meeting are: large scale, all listed goods, and goods are all over Shanghai, Jiangsu, Henan and other places. Moreover, Henan Opera, Hebei Bangzi in Baoding, singing and dancing in Shanxi and Shandong, and flying cars in Anhui and Henan all add a lot of color to the conference. During the period, there were thousands of stalls for listed commodities, and the daily passenger flow exceeded 10,000. This has played a great role in activating the market economy, shaping the new image of Gaocheng and facilitating people's production and life.
