China Valentine's Day, also known as Jojo Day and Daughter's Day, is a traditional festival in China, which falls on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month every year. At the beginning of Qin Dynasty, Tanabata was still a taboo day. During the Western Han Dynasty, Tanabata gradually became an auspicious day, and the custom of needlework prevailed. During the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, "begging for cleverness" became a common activity to save customs.

In May 2006, China Valentine's Day was included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage by People's Republic of China (PRC) and the State Council. In 2008, the folk custom of Xihe Qiaoqi Festival was selected into the expanded list of representative projects of national intangible cultural heritage in China.
