How did Yu Dafu die?

At Yu Dafu's memorial service in 1985, Japanese scholar Masao Lingmu put forward the view that Yu Dafu was strangled by Japanese gendarmes in the forest, but he used English letters to express the "murderer", which seems to be insufficient evidence.
