The New Year is the most solemn festival for Tibetan compatriots in a year. From the middle of Tibetan calendar1February, every household will fry Kasai (a kind of fried pasta) and prepare a "cart and horse" box. Then the fried "Gexi" and the decorated "chariots and horses" are enshrined in the Buddhist shrine.
By the end of the month, every household should clean the shrines and furniture at home. Draw auspicious patterns in the middle wall of the kitchen or in the open space in front of the door. On New Year's Eve, the family sat around and ate "Gu Rabbit".
2. Karin Festival
The Tibetan word "Karin" refers to a place with green grass and trees. Whenever summer comes, people who have spent a long winter on the sunny plateau with flowers in full bloom will come to Karin in the suburbs to enjoy nature. 3. Fruit Festival
"Wang" means Tian in Tibetan, and "Guo" means Yuan. The fruit festival means going around the fields to express prayers and desires for a bumper harvest. It is very popular in the agricultural areas of Tibet, especially in the middle reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River and the rural areas on both sides of the Lhasa River. Whenever the crops are about to mature, people ask the monks in the local temples to choose an auspicious day and hold a fruit festival.
4. Snowden Festival
July 1 day in Tibetan calendar is the snow festival in Lhasa, which means "Yogurt Festival". Because the Snow Festival is dominated by Tibetan opera, it is also called "Tibetan Opera Festival". Today's Snow Festival, in addition to the original Tibetan opera performances, there are also performances by Tibetan and even domestic and foreign literary and art groups, which have become an art festival in Tibet.
5. Bath Festival
The bathing festival is usually held from July 6 to 12 in the Tibetan calendar and lasts for 7 days. It is said that bathing can eliminate all diseases and keep you healthy all year round.
