Introduction to Kurt Festival

Although Kote Festival is a national festival of Jino nationality, the festival activities are all held in villages, and the celebration time is decided by Longzhuoba in each village, but the procedures and activities of the festival are similar. Most villages have to chip in to buy cattle, hold cattle hunting activities, send bamboo rats to blacksmiths and dance at Zhuoba's house. In the early years, the Kote Festival was held by Jino people to commemorate the creation and use of iron. Every twelfth lunar month, Jinuo villages choose their own auspicious days to slaughter cattle and pigs. According to folklore, before the Jino people used iron tools, there was a woman who was pregnant for a long time and had no children. The fetus has been pregnant for nine years and nine months before birth. As soon as the baby left his mother's body, he became a stout man with a hammer in his right hand and pliers in his left. He put an anvil in the room and began to strike the iron. From then on, Jinuo people used iron knives and axes and had iron tools.
