Yuan Peng, 1967, born in July, is assistant to the president of China Institute of Contemporary International Relations, director of American Institute and doctoral supervisor. His main research areas are American diplomacy, Sino-US relations, international strategy and security, and Asia-Pacific security. Executive director of American Society of China, academic member of Peking University Center for International Strategic Studies, visiting professor of National Defense College of China National Defense University, special expert of Xinhua News Agency, special commentator of People's Daily, director of China-US People's Friendship Association, and director of China Reform and Opening Forum.
