The word "superstition" is common in classical literature, but its blind and irrational connotation was introduced from Japan in the late Qing Dynasty. It was first used by intellectuals to denounce ghosts and gods and religious fields, and then extended to psychological activities and social phenomena contrary to rational spirit.
