Binhai Road was built in 1970s. It turned out to be a war preparation road, and both ends were guarded by troops. In the early 1980s, Deng Xiaoping visited Dalian and suggested that Dalian should open to the outside world. Binhai Road, with a total length of 32 kilometers, can be divided into four sections from Haizhiyun Square to Bangchui Island, Bangchui Island to Tiger Beach, Tiger Beach to Fujiazhuang, and Fujiazhuang to Xinghai Square from east to west. Each part has different scenery and styles. When bloom is warm in spring, there are mountains covered with mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forests and the foothills of red azaleas in full bloom on one side, and the vast sea and various reef islands on the other, and there are many wonders along the way.

The main scenic spots running through Binhai Road are: Haizhiyun Park, Bangba Island, Stone Trough, Tiger Beach, Beida Bridge, Yanwoling, Xiuyuefeng, Fujiazhuang, Baiyun Mountain, Golden Beach, Silver Beach and Xinghai Square. Binhai Road extends westward to Xinghai Park and Heishi Reef.

Haizhiyun Park is located in the northeast section of Binhai Road, a seaside scenic spot in the south of Dalian, covering an area of more than 450 hectares with a coastline of1.200m.. Haizhiyun Square in the park covers an area of 38,000 square meters and is named after the large-scale group sculpture "Haizhiyun". Composed of five directors, Bai Gang is like a soaring dragon, rolling with waves, which is very dynamic and permeable. Laohutan Ocean Park is a peninsula seaside park, surrounded by mountains on three sides and facing the sea in the south. Beida Bridge, located between Laohutan Scenic Area and Yanwoling Scenic Area, is a dry bridge across the valley and facing the sea, and is the hub of the east-west coastal highway that runs through the whole Dalian coastal scenic area. Peking University Bridge is a three-span simply supported stiffening truss suspension bridge with a total length of 230m, a middle span of 132m and a bridge width of 12m, in which the carriageway is 8m wide. The bridge is magnificent, novel and unique, and it is a spectacular and beautiful scenic spot. This bridge is a sister city between Dalian in China and Kitakyushu. In order to promote friendly exchanges between the two cities and commemorate the traditional friendship between the people of the two cities, a pavilion with Japanese national style-"Dabei Pavilion" was built in Kitakyushu Park, and a highway bridge-Beida Bridge was built in Dalian.

The mountain range in the Yanwoling Scenic Area is east-west, forming a peak about L kilometers long. Because black swallows often come here to nest and breed on the cliffs, they are named "Yanwoling". The mountains are parallel to the coast, facing the sea in the south, and the cliffs tens of meters high fall straight to the bottom of the sea. This scenic spot is one of the most seaside scenic spots in the southern coastal area. Xiu Yue Feng Scenic Area continues westward from Yanwo Ridge along Binhai Road, over a winding sunny hillside, and reaches Xiu Yue Feng Scenic Area. There are nine hills and mountains in the scenic spot, and the highest peak in the east of the scenic spot is Yuexiufeng, with an altitude of 2 14.3 meters. Climbing Yuexiu Peak, you can enjoy the vast sea and the sky, browse the mountains and see the city landscape. Fujiazhuang Scenic Area has a unique natural landscape, with terraced fields on the east and west sides and open beaches in the middle. Dalian Island on the east and west sides faces the beach across the sea, forming a multi-dimensional space of sea, mountains, reefs and beaches. To the west of the scenic spot is Fujiazhuang Park. There is a 550-meter-long bathing beach here, which is one of the four major bathing beaches in Dalian. The eastern part of the scenic spot has been opened as a resort and tourism service center. Rows of distinctive buildings scattered in the surrounding mountains have become one of the important bases for Dalian's summer activities. Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area is the largest scenic spot in Dalian seaside scenic area, covering an area of 7.5 million square meters. Around the square is a large musical fountain. Starting from the center of the central avenue of the square, 500 meters to the north is the exhibition center, and 500 meters to the south is the blue sea. The central avenue is lined with red bricks and green grass. Xinghai Square is backed by the city and facing the sea, with an open mind.

The first and second phases of Xinghai Convention and Exhibition Center are public building complexes integrating exhibition and commerce. No matter in design, building quality or internal facilities, it is an international advanced level and comparable to a world-class exhibition hall. Dalian's international fashion festival, fireworks festival, trade fair and other large festivals are all located here, which are very lively all year round.

Dalian Shell Museum is located in the castle on the hillside in the southeast corner of Dalian Xinghai Square. The museum covers an area of 2,500 square meters, and more than 5,000 kinds of rare marine shells from all over the world are on display here. People swimming here, or picking up shiny shells here, or boating in the reef forest at sea, or squatting on the rocks to fish leisurely, all have different tastes and hobbies.
