Is there a difference between the Japanese people and Japanese imperialism?

There is a difference between the Japanese people and Japanese imperialism. The main difference lies in their different subjects and meanings, but they are related. The Japanese people are an integral part of Japanese imperialism, but the concept of Japanese imperialism does not mean that it is the concept of all Japanese people. The two can be said to be unified and opposite.
