How to choose the right delivery method?

Natural childbirth has the least injury and the fastest recovery.

At present, there are three common delivery methods, natural delivery, vaginal delivery and cesarean section. Each mode of delivery has different symptoms, but natural delivery is the most used, which has the least harm to the maternal body and the fastest recovery.

1, natural delivery

Natural delivery, which is what we usually call natural delivery, refers to the delivery mode of the fetus through the vagina without manual intervention on the premise that the fetus develops normally, the pregnant woman's pelvis develops normally, and the pregnant woman is in good health and has safety guarantee. Natural delivery is the mode of delivery with the least physical injury and the fastest recovery.

2. Vaginal midwifery

Vaginal midwifery refers to the use of instruments to assist the parturient to deliver the fetus after the cervix is completely opened in the second stage of labor, including forceps midwifery and fetal head aspiration. Under what circumstances do you need vaginal delivery? Director Gao said that forceps delivery and uterine aspiration delivery are not chosen by pregnant women or their families, but by doctors to judge whether they need to do it according to the situation of mother and baby. For example, if the second stage of labor is stagnant (65438+ 0-2 hours after the cervix is fully opened) or the baby's fetal heart rate is slow, you can choose vaginal midwifery.

3. Cesarean section

Cesarean section, often called caesarean section, refers to the operation to cut the abdominal wall and uterus and take out the fetus. Generally, pregnant women with pelvic stenosis, abnormal placenta, abnormal birth canal or premature water breakthrough and abnormal fetus often use this delivery method when they need to end delivery as soon as possible. Caesarean section can save the mother from labor pains. If there are other diseases in the abdominal cavity, they can also be treated together. However, caesarean section has great harm to the parturient, slow recovery after delivery, and may also have surgical sequelae.

Why do more and more people choose caesarean section?

In recent years, the rate of caesarean section has been rising all over the world. In 1990s, the global caesarean section rate was 16%- 17%, and it has reached 27-28% since 2000. China's caesarean section rate is among the highest in the world, reaching 40-50%.

Why do more and more people choose caesarean section? Director Gao said that many mothers choose caesarean section because they are afraid of pain, and caesarean section can avoid pain. In China, many people choose caesarean section to give birth on an auspicious day. In China, many people want their children to be born at a better time, and caesarean section just meets this demand.

In addition, some mothers believe that caesarean section can reduce the risk of hypoxia in infants. Is that really the case? Director Gao said that the survey shows that under certain circumstances, the increase of cesarean section rate can reduce neonatal hypoxia (one of the indications of cesarean section is fetal intrauterine hypoxia), but when the cesarean section rate reaches 30%, it can not reduce the incidence of neonatal hypoxia, that is to say, caesarean section is not very helpful to the baby.

Some mothers choose caesarean section because they are afraid of vaginal relaxation caused by natural delivery and affect postpartum sexual life. In fact, mothers don't have to worry, because the vagina is very elastic and can recover on its own after childbirth. Director Gao explained that within three months after delivery, the pelvic floor of the parturient who gave birth through vagina was indeed looser than that of the parturient who gave birth by caesarean section, but after three months, the difference was negligible. In addition, caesarean section may cause chronic pelvic pain, but it will affect sexual life. Generally speaking, vaginal delivery will not affect sexual life.

Expectant mothers should carefully choose caesarean section.

Although the medical technology is developed now, the speed of caesarean section is faster, the trauma is smaller and the recovery is faster than before, but Director Gao still advises expectant mothers to be cautious when choosing caesarean section because there are many risks and sequelae of caesarean section. First of all, no matter how small the laparotomy incision is, it should be as big as a baby's head, at least 10 cm, which is not a small wound; Secondly, there are a large number of visceral vessels around the uterus, and the operation risk is very high; Third, postoperative adhesion is easy to occur; Fourth, caesarean section is easy to cause scar uterus and affect the second pregnancy, especially now that the second child policy is liberalized, many mothers have the opportunity to have a second or even a third child. If it is a scarred uterus, the risk will multiply.

Director Gao finally stressed that the choice of delivery mode needs to be discussed by the mother, family members and doctors. Before delivery, we should fully communicate with doctors and choose the method that suits us best. The principle of choosing delivery mode is to return to nature as much as possible, reduce intervention and choose the method with the least trauma, which is relatively safe for the baby and mother and has the least complications.
