Hengkeng Primary School was established in 1936, with the original site of Zhong Shi Ancestral Temple in Hengkeng Village. It is a first-class school in Guangdong Province. The school covers an area of 50 mu, with an average area of 42.2 square meters, a building area of 13 170 square meters and a playground area of 600 square meters, which is divided into teaching area, sports area, living area, square area and garden area. There are 18 classes with 779 students, 4 teachers and 7 employees.

The former site of Hengkeng Primary School is the "Zhong's Ancestral Hall" with a history of more than 680 years in Hengkeng Village. This ancestral temple was given to Zhong Bo as a gift by Emperor Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty. In the memorial hall of this ancestral temple, there is a memorial tablet inscribed by Zhong Bo in the eighth year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (1529). "Pursuing the distance" comes from "The Analects of Confucius Learning": be careful to pursue the distance and be honest with each other. "Pursue the distance with caution" is a sad memory of the life behavior of our ancestors; "Respecting morality and returning to the thick" is an understanding of the career achievements of our ancestors and a respect for their noble character, words and deeds. It is a sincere memory.

The purpose of the ancients' careful pursuit of the future and not forgetting their ancestors was to enhance cohesion, arouse the memory and admiration of their ancestors through sacrifices, and precipitate a morality and a culture. It aims at national unity and clan unity, and places the national spirit of China people to respect their ancestors. In this historical background, although Hengkeng Primary School has moved to its present address, we can never forget its spirit of "pursuing the distance". To this end, in 2005, our school extensively solicited the opinions of people of insight from all walks of life, as well as the administrative team and teachers' representatives, and established our school-running idea: sincerity to beauty.

"Honesty and goodness" both come from the golden mean. "Only sincerity in the world can be perfect", "The way of university is to be moral and close to the people, and stop at perfection."

If interpreted in one sentence, "sincerity is the best", from the teacher's level: I want to do things well; From the student level: I want to learn well.
