Why do you want to eat dumplings at the autumnal equinox?

According to custom, farmers have a holiday on the autumn equinox. Every family should eat dumplings. Ten, twenty or thirty dumplings that don't need to be wrapped are cooked, and a thin bamboo fork is placed on the outdoor ridge beside the field, which is called sticking the sparrow's mouth without destroying crops. Of course, sticking the sparrows' mouths with glutinous rice balls is just the beautiful imagination and wish of farmers' friends.

Sticking a bird's beak means cooking more than a dozen solid jiaozi and putting it on a plate to dry. Bamboo with leaves is cut down from the bamboo forest. Children of each family poke dumplings at the top of the bamboo pole, carry them to the ground, and then insert them into their own ridges one by one. I hope the dumplings can stick to the sparrow's mouth and let it learn its lesson and never come again.
