What is the difference between the characteristic curves of diesel engine and gasoline engine?
The speed characteristic of the engine refers to the law that the power torque and fuel consumption rate of the engine change with the crankshaft speed under the condition of constant load. When the throttle opening reaches the maximum, the obtained speed characteristic is called the external characteristic of the engine, which represents the highest dynamic performance of the engine.
The maximum power and torque of the engine and its corresponding speed marked on the external characteristic curve are important indicators to express the engine characteristics. Figure 2-4 is the external characteristic curve of diesel engine, and Figure 2-5 is the external characteristic curve of gasoline engine.
