How to clean the throttle

The correct way to clean the throttle:

1. Select cleaning agent, which mainly cleans the main channel, valve plate, bypass channel and idle stepping motor of throttle body. Cleaning agents shall not contain strong corrosive substances, and carburetor cleaning agents are generally used.

2. Remove the throttle body assembly from the engine.

3. Remove the throttle body stepping motor from the throttle body assembly. Please carefully clean the sealing ring on the stepping motor separately. Do not remove any screws except those installed on the throttle body stepping motor.

4. Spray the cleaning agent evenly and appropriately on the main channel of the throttle body, both sides of the throttle valve plate, the shaft of the throttle body and the channel beside the throttle body for soaking. Then open the throttle valve plate, rinse off the dissolved carbon deposits and other impurities with cleaning agent, then soak the cleaning agent with cotton cloth, and wipe the throttle body mounting surface, main channel, throttle valve plate, throttle body shaft and side channel holes clean.

5. Check the carbon on the surface of the stepping motor, put down the air conditioner of the stepping motor head, spray it evenly on the sealing belt of the stepping motor, the surface of the stepping motor, the air conditioner head of the stepping motor, the mounting hole and the mounting surface of the stepping motor with a proper amount of cleaning agent, and then wipe the motor head and the protruding part with cotton cloth.

6. Install the stepping motor into the throttle body assembly according to the disassembly direction. Be careful not to lose the sealing ring of the stepping motor. Tighten the two mounting screws of the stepping motor with a torque of 1.8~3.0nm.

7. Reinstall the cleaned throttle body assembly to the whole vehicle, and start the vehicle to check the idle speed and acceleration.
