How to clean the carburetor of motorcycle

The cleaning method of motorcycle carburetor is as follows:

1. Remove the carburetor from the motorcycle, turn off the oil and unplug the oil pipe. Unscrew the nut connecting the carburetor with the engine with Torx eight or ten, and then unscrew the screw connecting the carburetor with the filter.

2. Remove the throttle pipe, turn off the oil and unplug the oil pipe. Remove the carburetor float chamber and unscrew the three screws of the carburetor float chamber cover with a cross knife.

3. After removing the carburetor, remove the main injection hole, idle injection hole and float of the carburetor and start cleaning the carburetor.

4. Aim the carburetor cleaner at each spray hole, and be careful not to aim at the carburetor, so as not to spray the cleaner on your eyes. After cleaning, install carburetor.

Matters needing attention in cleaning carburetor of motorcycle

Pay attention to the cleaning environment, and choose a relatively clean site to clean the carburetor. Before cleaning, you can dip a brush in a little gasoline to remove dust, oil and other impurities on the carburetor surface. After removing the carburetor, cover the air inlet of the engine with clean cloth or adhesive tape to prevent dust and foreign matter from entering.

Pay attention to the use of tools when cleaning. All metering holes of carburetor are made of copper material, especially the slot hole of main metering hole, and there can be no burr. The thickness of the slotted screwdriver used for disassembly must be equal to the width of the slot of the main metering hole, otherwise the slotted screwdriver will slip at its notch, producing metal chips and falling into the metering hole.
