What to eat on the twenty-four solar terms in winter solstice?
Jiaozi was called Joule in the early days. The inventor was Zhang Zhongjing, a medical sage in the Eastern Han Dynasty. When Zhang Zhongjing retired to his hometown in Baihe in his later years, he saw many people on the shore hungry and cold, and many people's ears were frozen. Therefore, Zhang Zhongjing decided to treat these poor people.
After Zhang Zhongjing's research, he cooked "Quhan Joule Soup". He boiled mutton with pepper and some medicine to drive away the cold. After cooking, he took out the ingredients and chopped them up, wrapped them in dough, which was shaped like ears, so it was also called Joule.
After cooking, give the patients a bowl of soup and two pieces each. After eating, the whole body will have fever and blood will circulate in the intestine. After a while, the frozen ears will be fine, and this process of ear separation will last until the New Year's Eve. In order to celebrate recovery, people decide to eat jiaozi every winter solstice and the first day of New Year's Day.
