It seems that southerners especially like to eat meat. Not only meat is put in moon cakes, but also meat stuffing is stuffed in zongzi, which is beyond the understanding of northerners. I think it's ok to add lotus seed paste and bean paste to the moon cake. If you put meat in it, it seems to have changed its taste.

If you say meat, think about it. You can put some leeks, eggs and shrimp stuffing. When I was in college, one of my classmates was from Guangzhou. When he came back from the Mid-Autumn Festival, he brought a box of local specialty moon cakes, which were stuffed with bacon. In fact, bacon itself is acceptable, but the taste in moon cakes is really indescribable.

I think this is the difference in diet in different regions. It seems that many people have imaginative ideas. They will add all kinds of strange things to the stuffing of moon cakes. My aunt in our school canteen should also have some new dishes, that is, stir-fry moon cakes, cut them into irregular pieces and stir-fry them with some vegetables.

In our college life, this is absolutely the same as dark cooking. So now I will never eat moon cakes during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Maybe the memory of moon cakes is too deep for me.
