What is the meaning of putting lanterns on the Lantern Festival?

The implication of putting the Kongming Lantern on the Lantern Festival is that the launch of the Kongming Lantern is of great significance to heaven, so the people will write their wishes for blessing on the lantern and let it fly on the 16th night of the first lunar month, so that the gods can bless the pavilion. The Origin of Kongming Lantern
