The origin of spring ploughing festival:

According to legend, it originated in Fuxi period, and Fuxi was on the second day of the second lunar month every year. "The imperial mother delivers meals and cultivates the fields" encourages the people to develop agricultural production. Later emperors will hold a grand ceremony on this day, calling on officials to cultivate in person, which indicates the beginning of a year's farming activities. In the Yuan Dynasty, it was clearly stipulated that "the dragon looked up". Later, this festival was followed, and more and more celebrations were held.

Because the second day of the second lunar month is spring returning to the earth, and everything recovers, it is a good season for spring ploughing and sowing. The legendary dragon king also woke up from a deep sleep and was about to ascend to heaven to make clouds and rain. At the same time, hibernating insects began to resurrect and unearthed, and people expected the Dragon King to deter pests, so that crops would not be harmed and a bumper harvest would be achieved.
