Method of adjusting valve clearance

The method of adjusting the valve clearance is as follows:

Method 1: Adjust the method cylinder by cylinder.

1. First, loosen the adjustment screw and tighten the screw shaft with a screwdriver to determine the adjustment position.

2. Tighten the screws, adjust the clearance between the intake valve and the exhaust valve, and gradually adjust the valve clearance of other cylinders according to this method.

Method 2: twice adjustment method.

1. When adjusting, turn the adjusting screw, insert the thickness gauge between the valve stem end and the rocker arm, and pull it back and forth.

2. It is advisable to feel slight resistance. It is more accurate to check and adjust the valve clearance by cylinder method. Adjusting the valve clearance twice saves time and effort, but it has certain requirements for the memory of maintenance personnel.

Valve clearance: When the engine is working, the valve will expand due to the temperature increase. If there is no gap between the valve and its driver in the cold state or the gap is too small, the expansion of the valve and its driver in the hot state will inevitably lead to the untidy closing of the valve, resulting in air leakage in the compression stroke and working stroke of the engine, thus reducing the power and even making it difficult to start in serious cases. In order to eliminate this phenomenon, when the engine is assembled in cold state, a certain gap is usually left in the valve and its transmission mechanism to compensate for the expansion of the valve after heating. This clearance is called valve clearance.

Danger of too large or too small valve clearance:

1, the valve clearance is too large, which will cause impact noise between valve transmission parts and between valve and valve seat, and accelerate wear;

2. The valve opening duration decreases, the cylinder inflation coefficient decreases, and the exhaust is incomplete;

3. The valve clearance is too small, and the valve is not tightly closed when the engine is hot, resulting in air leakage, power reduction and valve burning. Million car purchase subsidy
