What birds are there in the Yellow River Wetland?

Great bustard, black stork, white-naped crane and other national first-class wild birds, cygnet, white crane, white spoonbill and other national second-class protected wild animals, as well as a large number of migratory birds and common cormorants such as herons, geese and ducks.

Wetlands in the Yellow River Basin mainly include eight distribution areas, including the Yellow River headwater wetland, Zoige grassland wetland, Ningxia plain wetland, Inner Mongolia Hetao plain wetland, Mu Us sandy land wetland, Sanmenxia reservoir wetland, lower Yellow River wetland and estuary delta wetland, with a total area of about 2.8 million hectares, accounting for 8% of the total land wetland area in China.

The Yellow River wetland ecosystem plays an important role in protecting water source, purifying water quality and conserving soil and water. It can not only store water and flood detention, regulate climate and purify water, but also protect and breed rare wild animals and plants.
