When tension pneumothorax occurs, larger alveolar rupture, larger and deeper lung laceration or bronchial rupture communicate with pleural cavity, forming a one-way valve. When gas enters, the pressure in pleural cavity increases continuously. At this time, positive pressure ventilation will further make gas enter the pleural cavity from the valve orifice of lung laceration, which will further increase the pressure in the pleural cavity, thus making the tension pneumothorax worse faster.
