What does leap month mean?
Leap month is a month that increases every two to three years in the lunar calendar. In order to coordinate the contradiction between the tropic year and the lunar year, a leap month is set every two to three years.
There were leap weeks in ancient times, and 19 had seven leaps. By the time of Linde calendar in Tang Dynasty, the fixed leap week was abolished, and the leap was set in the month without season, so it was leap time.
The current method of setting leap in lunar calendar is "19 years and seven leap years", that is, every two to three years, a lunar month that is the same as the previous month is added, and the added month is called leap month. The rules of leap method are based on 24 solar terms related to the tropic year of solar calendar.
A tropical year is divided into 24 solar terms. If the twenty-four solar terms are discharged from beginning of spring to severe cold, then odd numbers are called solar terms and even numbers are called qi. In the lunar calendar, twelve Chinese qi are used to represent twelve months of a year, and the average interval between Chinese qi and Chinese qi will be nearly one day longer than that of a lunar month. In the long run, there will always be a phenomenon of gas neutrality at the end of the month, so there will be no gas next month, only solar terms. So this lunar month without neutrality is called the leap month of last month.
Leap moon refers to a phenomenon in the lunar calendar. The lunar calendar arranges the big moon and the small moon according to the full moon, which is the full moon. The length of a moon is 29.5306 days, which is the cycle of the moon's profit and loss. According to the lunar calendar, there are 30 days for the big moon and 29 days for the small moon, and a year is 12 months * * 354.672 days.
In order to overcome the shortcomings that the weather is inconsistent with the calendar and the time sequence is disordered and reversed, our ancestors found the method of "leap month" on the basis of astronomical observation, ensuring that the first month to March is spring, April to June is summer, July to September is autumn, and October to December is winter, and at the same time ensuring that the Lunar New Year begins in late winter and early spring.
